Homemade Hamburgers

Mine and Tyler's new favorite summer show is Shaq vs. For some reason we LOVE Shaq. More for his crazy personality and funny remarks, than his basketball skills. Last week he challenged Rachel Ray to see who could make the best homemade hamburgers. Tyler and I thought it sounded so good and wanted to make them some time for dinner. We made them last Friday and they were fantabulous! Super easy too.

My favorite ingredient, Parmesan Cheese!

Catching Up...

These last couple weeks have been super busy and non-stop. But fun-filled at the same time. We had our Hoch family reunion, which never had a dull moment, and we moved into a new place (pictures in a later post).

So first of all, we went up to Idaho to have our Hoch reunion. Tyler's parents live in Washington, which makes hard for them to come down for reunions every year. This year they were able to come down! They came down a little earlier and we spent a couple days at Lava Hot Springs, before going to the actual reunion. (p.s. I could NEVER live in Lava, way to super small!) It was super fun, right when we first got there we got roping lessons from TJ and Jordan. TJ ended up roping Tiffany (not on purpose) while she was racing Tyler, and she got a wicked battle scar.
Our first activity at Lava was going tubing down the river. Amber and I were the only ones after 3 runs down the river that didn't end up getting all scratched up. Tyler and I were in a double tube, and for our first run decided to go down the two biggest waterfalls in the river, on the second one you are supposed to (key words) make you way over to the left side of the river and go down the waterfall. We, being the get navigators that we are, went down the right side and totally got thrown off our tube, but neither of us got hurt.
Then we went and relaxed at the Hot Springs. They are super awesome! After everyone getting cut and scratched up and the next day been totally fine, we have renamed the place, Healing Waters.
Our last day there we played back and forth between the Hot Spring and the Water Park in Lava. Our greatest moment was getting Debbie (Tyler's mom) to go down the "green slide," which by far was the fastest one there, and having her think is was calm and slow. Her screams  all the way down and her face when she came out was priceless!

The hottest pool there. 113 degrees!

You can't really tell, but Glenn is
actually dancing while Kyle is drumming.
(ps. worst idea ever buying Kyle a drum!)

This is me schooling everyone in Golf.

Debbie and Tiff making our fabulous hobo dinners!

Can you find the green slide? Tiffany, Jordan, and Kyle went off the tallest diving platform (30 meters above the water) Tyler, TJ and I only made it to the second one.

Off to our Family reunion, we met at a RV parking place in Rupert, ID took pictures had a little program and went off to Steadman Farms, little did we know what was coming. There was a zip line at the farm and some people decided to go down it. Glenn (Tyler's dad) decided to stay down and stop the smaller kids as they went down since the zip line goes pretty fast, Tiffany and already fallen trying to stop herself. While he was helping someone stop, his finger got caught in the zip line, sut it wide open and by the end of the night he had 8 stiches on his finger. Other than that, the water slides were super fun. It was so funny to see the younger cousins go down. Hands down, by far my favorite was little 3 year old Addie going down laughing the whole way.

One Year Anniversary

On August 1 Tyler and I had been married for a year! Since it fell on a Sunday this year we celebrated the day before. Tyler was planning something for a while, I didn't really care what we did, just that we did something. So we ended up going to the Mt. Timpanogos Temple where we were sealed and did sealings. Then we went and ate at The Mayan, which was super cool. Afterwards, we came home and watched Stardust. Tyler surprised me with tickets to Lion King!!! I, on the other hand, bought  him garments and a wallet...what?! It's what he wanted and needed!

Reunion!

For the last 2 years and 9 months, I have only talked to by BFF once on the phone! The rest of our communication has been letters and emails. But that is no more!!! You may ask why this is, well let me explain. I served a mission in Portugal from Nov. 07 - Apr. 09. Naomi left on her mission to Spain Jan. 08, she got back this last Tuesday! Let me just say I am sick of sending weekly emails to anyone, now that all my friends are back, I hope the next time I have do that is when my children go on missions!!!!

Sadly, this couldn't have happened. but...

What we've been up to...

Like I said in the last post this past month has been super busy. So here's a glance of what we've been up to...

Tyler playing an Epic game of ping pong with Matt. At Robb's Surprise party.

The Utah Hoch Cousins. (We're missing Gracie, Maggie, Ally, and Addy)

Moroni's birthday! I don't know anyone who has more
school pride than Mo. So I got him a Bonneville Shirt.
Tyler got him the Captain Moroni figurine.

What we should have gotten Ben for his birthday!
He always plays with my mom's cane when she is over.

Ben had a Seseame Street Party. No that is not a store
bought cake, my fabulous sister made it! It took her
an hour and a half to frost it.

Tyler in his Elmo party hat!
Tyler and Moroni were the only ones that wore them! :)

At the Raptors Game on Pioneer Day!

The view from our seats. They were free, that's all I have to
say! If you look closely you can see the moon coming
up behing the mountain. Tyler pointed to it and said,
"Look, a moon-set." I sadly had to point out to him that
technically it was a "moon-rise."

Youth Spectacular...

July has come and gone and it has been a very busy month in the Hoch household. With mine and Tyler's callings in the church, (YMs President and 1st Counselor in YWs) we have been super duper busy with the Youth Specatular that was held at Weber State a couple weeks ago. We drove 3 of the young men to all of the practices. Tyler sat in the stands and watched as I walked with the kids down on the track and field. It was very exhausting but in the end it turned out to be a great experience. If you weren't part of the 20,000+ people that watched over 2 performances and a dress rehearsal then check this out!

The finale for our group

"Celebrating the Light" one of the finale songs

"Keepers of His Light" finale song

The youth did such a great job! After all is said and done I was so pround of them. After all that work you would think that we could rest, well Tyler did. I, on the other hand, didn't skip a beat and went of to Girl's Camp for 4 days. It's was super fun! I love the girls in my ward they are super duper cute! (post coming soon!) We get back on Friday, and now I honestly have a summer!

Stadium of Fire...

I was super excited all week long for Carrie Underwood! Tyler was more counting down for it to be over. But by the end of the whole thing he was actually pleasantly surprised and now has Carrie songs in his head! hehe!
That morning we went to a breakfast our ward was doing. Then we watched Argentina get HAMMERED by Germany...which right there made my day! We had a bbq with some friends in the ward and then we made our way to Provo. We walked around a little bit and then we went into the stadium. The whole thing was awesome!!!

The greatest men in our ward! Brother Montgomery (in the baseball cap). He looks EXACTLY like Pres. Kimball!! No lie! Also, Brother Crandell, (in the cowboy hat). He sits behind us in sacrament meeting and narrates it for it. Really he just makes a lot of comments (some pretty hilarious) to his wife, but he's not the greatest whisperer so we can hear it all.

My two favorite things!!! Carrie and Lavell Edwards Stadium!

So we didn't have the hottest seats,
but we are poor college students!

They had the largest Court of Honor,  where 261 boys received their Eagle Scout Award. Then they made the biggest "Eagles Nest," which is having all the guys in the stadium that have earned their Eagle Scout, stand and hold up the fold out that was in our program. Tyler had the great opportunity to stand up and do it.

My American Idol! She is so awesome and down to Earth.

She actually got a little spirtual and taught some gospel doctrine.
"Temporary Home" She sang this at the concert but I LOVE the music video!

"Jesus Take the Wheel/How Great Thou Art" This is at another concert but she did the exact same thing at Stadium of Fire.

Tyler's Favorite Carrie Moment...
